In the meeting, which lasted two hours, the European ambassadors repeatedly demonstrated their interest in being informed first-hand about the situation of the political prisoners on the island, as well as about the alternative of peaceful change that the MCL promotes.

The MCL wishes to make this information public and take the opportunity to thank the European Union and the ambassador to Portugal for this initiative that reinforces the cordial and fluid dialogue that the organization has with Europe, its institutions, and its representatives, as well with the President of the European Parliament, Mr. Pottering.

During the meeting, the dissidents who were present earnestly implored the diplomats for the European Union’s support for the resolution that the MCL has presented on the release of all Cuban political prisoners.
